The challenges of this life can wear you down
But don’t give up the faith
There will be times when you can’t see a way
And everything seems hopeless
Those are the days to lean into prayer
To walk by faith
And do something to elevate your spirit
Those are the days
You don’t give up
But find a thread of inspiration and follow it
To a new path
To a new beginning
God won’t leave you hanging in the whirlwind
If you don’t leave him first
But there will be days when you can’t see a way
When your efforts pile up to dust and bones
Where the structure of everything is flapping in the wind
And demons come knocking and whisper discouraging words
And discouraging words again.
Those are the days you wake up with prayer and movement
You wipe the cobwebs from your eyes
And tell satan to get behind you
You belong where the party is free
And in lights battling your way home
Don’t believe them when they tell you your voice doesn’t matter
Don’t believe them when they say your life is in the ground
Don’t believe the hateful voices full of death and useless chatter
That tell you no one cares if you’re around
Don’t believe that the sky doesn’t see you
Don’t believe when they say nobody cares
You are put in your days for reason
To find a light only you know how to share
Don’t lose yourself in one more ancient slumber
Don’t betray the time you’re given here
Your blood is fuel for brand new states of wonder
Don’t drain it in the veins of fear
Keep your head down
And work on dreams and visions
Another day to develop who you are
Another day to be a sun that’s rising
Another night to fly just like a star
The challenges of this life can wear you down
And you don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to see the darkness stacking even harder against most people’s dreams for a better life
The freedoms been drained out of places like New York
And people are tied up in knots and twisted against each other
Trained to believe they are now enemies
The devil plays into certain aspects of human nature
And amplifies them
Manipulates people into wars they never would have fought before
Left to your own devices
You will spin out in the range
Left to your own devices you will consume the media and become its puppet
But we are here to reach beyond all that
And not be defeated by the false charges and division
We are here to rise above all that
And grow through the challenges of this life
It’s a form of travel
To lean into the difficulty
To lose everything and be on the precipice of madness empty
The devil sniping at your gifts and discounting them
Every step of the way
Since when haven’t you been delivered
Someplace new
That was better than before
Never let go of your faith
Never lose that thread of a morning prayer
Waking up to a challenge to over come and transcend
And once you are comfortable again
You arrive in that place built up
New layers and levels
New evolution
Even through these twisted times
New evolution
The world will wake up and move beyond all this
And maybe we’ll look at it as a strange dream
Where freedom was deflated and fear reigned supreme
But there will be another side to all this
So don’t give up hope
Don’t cave and surrender your will to live
And dream a full techi color landscape
A vision of a bright future
Where it’s all still possible
Measure your soul on your ability to hang onto your vision when the darkness descends
Or don’t measure your soul at all
Just don’t let go of your life when the devil is urging you too
Prayer is your boxing gloves in the ring of life

We are all being tested here and there is a reason for it all
